Gerald Kurdian
Gerald Kurdian, performer, songwriter and radio artist lives in Paris. He studied fine arts in Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Arts de Paris-Cergy before taking part in the EX.E.R.CE 07 contemporary dance program directed by Mathilde Monnier and Xavier LeRoy at the Centre Choreographique Nationale de Montpellier (CCNM). Since then, he collaborated with Eszter Salamon, Tiago Guedes, Andros Zins-Browne, Daniel Dobbels, Carole Perdereau and the Club des 5 (Mickaël Phelippeau, Virginie Thomas).
His performances have been shown in various places such as La Villette, Lelabo, Les Louvrais - Scène Nationale de Cergy, Théâtre 95, Maison Populaire, the Abbaye de Maubuisson, CCNM, les Subsistances, Palais de Tokyo, in Festival Uzes Danse '07 and Tanz im August '07.
In 2006, he collaborated with the Atelier de Creation Radiophonique de France Culture and produced "Je suis putain" a documentary constructed in collaboration with female prostitutes. He also directed several radio projects exploring sound performativity and contemporary arts critique (Divergence fm, Radio RGB, Betonsalon, La Vitrine).
He is currently working on "1999", a lo-fi performance on space-operas, and composes lovesongs for the first album of THIS IS THE HELLO MONSTER !, his avant-folk solo band.
