Heather Lang

Heather Lang studied at the Ruth Page School and Hubbard Street Dance in Chicago before earning her BFA in Dance from NYU Tisch School of the Arts in 2003. Heather also studied on scholarship at both the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance in Austria and the American Dance Festival. In 2004 Heather co-choreographed a full evening site specific outdoor show entitled The Sunset Clause together with fellow NYU alumnae Eleanor Bauer, Beth Gill, and Hannah Spongberg. Heather is currently living and working in New York where she performed for four seasons with The Radio City Rockettes and performs in commercials, films, industrials, and on Broadway.

Heather's work for Broadway includes the solo roles of Cassandra from CATS and Helga from Cabaret, a feature in Nights On Broadway II dancing a solo role from Movin' Out, and the original cast for creation and performance in the opera Grendel, directed by Julie Taymor and choreographed by Anjelin Preljocaj. She will work again with Julie Taymor in the original cast for the Broadway musical 'Spiderman', for premiere in March 2010.

Other theater work includes Gypsy and Damnation of Faust with the Metropolitan Opera of New York City. Heather's dance work on film includes Across The Universe (Dir. Julie Taymor), The Great Observer (Chor. Hinton Battle), and I Am Legend (Starring Will Smith). In television, Heather has appeared in several commercials both acting and dancing, including a Coca-Cola advertisement choreographed by Karole Armitage. She has acted in the series Rescue Me, danced on VH1's Fasion Rocks, and was the winner of MTV's Wannabe: Madonna show in 2004.

Heather maintains pursuit of her own work as a choreographer and collaborator with peers and colleagues such as Jason Parsons and Eleanor Bauer.
